My Story... My Rugs...

Welcome to my store,
First of all, thank you for visiting my shop and getting to know me. I hope you will be satisfied.
My name is Fatih, I have been living in New York for many years, where my friends call me 'Bob'.
I was born in a family of five children in the city of Malatya (Maldia), the middle of Central Anatolia. Malatya city is one of the most important centers where carpet weaving is done in Anatolia along with the surrounding cities. The town where I was born is known for its processing of sheep wool for centuries and making valuable carpets. My family has been weaving and selling carpets for generations. Today, my father and brothers still continue this tradition with me.
Unfortunately, these carpets, which were woven specially for the dowry of the brides, were replaced by machine rugs today. It is almost impossible to find anyone to weave these carpets that are woven through a long and difficult process. However, it is both healthy, natural, and unique with its natural sheep wool and root dyes and unique motifs engraved on it. But like many other things, they have succumbed to the wheels of the industry.
We are preparing these unique antique carpets made of pure wool, each of which is based on at least 50 years of history, for me, my dear customers, who carefully appreciate it by cleaning, shaving, and care with completely natural methods in order to bring it back to the modern life.
I am 37 years old today. I am currently working in New York, after college. And I'm very happy to be here. Handmade vintage carpets are both my livelihood and hobby. It is an indescribable pleasure for me to find an old rug with a lived story and hidden on one side. I hope; I can reach people who have fallen in love with my carpets like me and give the old people the necessary value and respect and will transfer them as a legacy to the next generations. People who weave these rugs may not be alive today, but these unique arts they have created will live for generations thanks to you.
I would also like to thank the ETSY family for the opportunity to introduce and share my unique and handmade vintage carpets, each precious from each other to the world.
Please feel free to write to me if you have any questions about Turkish Rugs.
Thank you again for visiting my store and supporting handmade.
It's nice to meet you,
Yours truly…
